Honoring our Islamic tradition is extremely important to me and it is how I am able to stay true and committed to who I am today. From the teachings of our great scholars of West Africa (Mauritania and Morroco), my direct teacher Shaykh Rami Nsour reached out to me during my incarceration. Hence, learning under the educational structures of the, then Zaytuna Institute and concluding with the Tayba Foundation, this was the making of a moral human being, which grew my commitment not just to the Muslim Community, but to the whole of humanity.
